Syberia Remastered
Syberia is a Point'n Click game created by Benoît Sokal in 2002 which has been widely acclaimed for its unique atmosphere, refined writing and rich universe.
You play as Kate Walker, a brilliant New-York lawyer sent to Valadilène, a small French village located in the Alps, to acquire an old automaton factory.
Unfortunately, all doesn't go according to plan, and Kate is thrown into an extraordinary journey to the frozen lands of Eastern Europe in search of the genius automaton designer: Hans Voralberg.
Along the way, she encounters colorful characters like Momo and Oscar, tricky & perilous situations, and a lot of riddles, all based on automaton mechanisms.
Roles & Tasks
Gameplay Programmer: I started by working on the VR game and moved later on to the PC / console game.
For both, I was mainly involved in integrating assets, creating new scenario parts and fixing bugs.
More specifically, I was responsible for creating the quest log system that tracks player progress, and for managing the entire user interface in the settings and journey log.
I also used the profiler to analyze and identify the costly VFX which were causing the game to crash on the PS5 version.
Finally, I created the audio banks with FMOD, incorporating the sounds from the original game, as well as recovering the missing sounds caused by the renaming of the files.
